Proactive Personnel are recruiting for Food Production Operatives to work for Maelor Foods which is a Family Run Business with a Family Feel Culture at their State of the art site based in Cross Lanes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The job purpose is to assist Despatch Supervisor and wider department in all aspects of carrying out daily bird drop tasks, which includes the lining and labelling of dolavs, rehang and wholesale packing. The role may also include trussing.
- Assisting in the packing and processing of all food products within the Bird drop/grading area
- Operating machinery and equipment as required including scales, pallet trucks and electric stackers (if appropriate licence is held)
- Carrying out a variety of cleaning duties as directed
- Assisting with the achievement of departmental KPI’s and targets
- Assist in minimising production costs
- Minimising wastage
Learning & Development
- Attending Company Training courses/sessions which will support your continuous personal development to ensure the manufacturing capability keeps pace with or exceeds the customer requirements. This will cover; food quality, food safety, health & safety, animal welfare where applicable
- Demonstrating competence in trained factory tasks
Animal Welfare
- Comply with all company policies and procedures as well as current legislation relating to bird welfare.

Hours of Work
Week 1: Monday 07:30am-18:30pm, Tuesday to Friday 16:30pm-01:00am
Week 2: Tuesday to Saturday 07:30-16:30
Rate of Pay:
Hourly rate – £10.00 per hour, £11.00 per hour after 12 weeks
