Our client is currently looking for somebody to join their team working is a busy finance department within a manufacturing unit. This is a part time, temporary ongoing position working 20 hours within 3 days a week to suit you; the hours would be Monday – Thursday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm and Friday 8:30 am – 1:30 pm.
The Job Role:
- Input and gain relevant approval for invoices from suppliers (including matching Purchase Orders)
- Prepare and make daily payments to suppliers. It is imperative that these suppliers are paid by due date
- Coding of invoices, matching and price checking invoices to PO’s
- Raising and chasing internal and external queries, missing invoices and credit notes
- Complete statement reconciliations for suppliers and complete any actions to resolve issues
- Assist in investigating any old or unusual items on monthly Aged Creditors report
- Use appropriate control tools to enable the effective monitoring of invoices for cash flow purposes, reporting on invoices awaiting approval or in dispute, and reporting on unauthorised expenditure
- Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details within the purchase ledger
- Allocate supplier payments on Sage
- Preparing BACS payments
- Communicating with Suppliers on disputes with their accounts.
- Any ad hoc duties as required
Experience/ Requirements:
- 3 grade C or above in GSCE’s (or equivalent) including mathematics (essential)
- Experience in a similar role (essential)
- Worked within purchase ledger team previously with high volume of transactions (essential)
- Computer literate with experience of MS Excel (essential)
- Experience of SAGE (desirable)
- Keen eye for detail (desirable)
- Good verbal and written communication skills (essential)
- Be motivated and proactive (essential)
- Able to work to strict deadlines (essential)
